We are often asked how we get new games for the library. Truthfully? We buy them.
That’s right. While occasionally some publishers will send us copies of games, most of the games are added by spending out of the con budget. But you can help! There are three ways you can help us to continue to grow the library.
- Donations – We are happy to accept donations of games in good condition to our library. Generally speaking we are looking for games we do not already have or games that are very popular. We tend to avoid the older, mass market games that do not have the level of gameplay expected by today’s players. If you have anything you would like to donate, please check in with our librarian at the convention.
- Suggestions – Hey, the ideas have to come from somewhere! If our guests don’t tell us what they want to see in the library, then everybody will play games that Greg and Jessie like. (And believe me, they like some pretty boring games). So, drop us a note with what games you would like to see us add to the library.
- Spread the Word – Expanding the library is one of the main ways we use the money that comes in from attendance at Lexicon. So the more people attend, the more the library can grow and improve. Plus, the more the merrier, right?
See you all at Lexicon!
