Final Schedule Available (and downloadable)

Here it is, the final schedule for Lexicon 2016 available for you to download now.  It is possible there are discrepancies between the Schedule Book and the Web site.  The schedule book is the most accurate, though it is always possible there are changes up to and including the last minute.  Will Call will be aware of the latest changes and we will try and note those on a special changes White board as well.

We are now counting the hours to Lexicon 2016 and we hope you are as excited as we are.  Can’t wait to see you there!

Without You, Our Staff Would be Bored… Come Learn to Play!

Learn to Play, LTP, Teaching Games.  It’s one of the things that Lexicon and our incredible staff of volunteers take a great deal of pride in.  Can you believe we are offering more than 80 GAMES that our Lexicon GMs are willing to teach!

Most of these are specific, recent release games such as Colt Express, Floating Market, and Queen’s Necklace.

Others are an opportunity to learn (or relearn) a game before playing in one of our tournaments such as Catan, Pandemic and Xenon Profiteer.

We are also bringing back out popular 5 Games in 90 Minutes where we will teach 5 different games for a specific audience such as Couples, Family Games, or just Games Everyone Should Know.  This is a great place to start if you are looking to enter the hobby or build your own collection.

Finally, we have added a new type of Learn-to-Play session: THEMES.  Your GM will gather a group of attendees and introduce them to a variety of games in a THEME such as Halloween, Deckbuilders or (on Sunday’s Family Day) My First Games.  Participants will then decide among themselves which game they want to explore in more detail.

Once you’ve learned any of these games, if you like what you saw, feel free to check them out.  All of our Learn-to-Play games are available in the library after they are taught.

For a complete list of games, check out our Learn-to-Play page.

Kids in the Hall!

The Vendor Hall, no wait, the Exhibit Hall, or I mean, the Dealers Hall.  Now that just sound like something illegal’s being sold.

OK, whatever you want to call it, we have an amazing presence this year.  Make sure to visit all the great vendors in the Hall as well as the smaller booths scattered around the outside of the ballroom.  Not only do these folks have a great selection of cool stuff, but these are often the sponsors who make Lexicon happen.  So, you can buy some great games, t-shirts, and other funky things, and you are happy.  The Vendor gets to take that money and do things like eat, but also find even cooler stuff and more games for next year.  They are happy.  One of the things they do, is come back to Lexicon, which makes Lexicon happy.  Lexicon takes that money and makes Lexicon bigger and better and more awesome, which makes you happy again.  Honestly, it’s how the whole economy is supposed to work.  🙂

Seriously, so everyone is ready, here’s a list of the fantastic Vendors supporting Lexicon this year:

Welcome to the Clarion Convention Center

We are into the home stretch, it won’t be long now.  So we thought we would take a minute to just review a few things about the Clarion just in case folks have some questions.

Parking at the hotel and the convention center is FREE (yay!).  If you are staying at the hotel, please note that Hotel Registration is in the front of the building while Convention registration is around back.  If you have not already done so, please make sure that you received the LEXICON rate and make sure to indicate if you wish to be near to the convention activities. A few hotel rules worth mentioning:

  • There is no smoking in any of the public areas of the convention center or directly outside the main doors.
  • The pool and fundome are for registered hotel guests only.
  • The Main Hall closes at midnight, but the rest of the convention center is open all night.  However, the hotel asks that guests observe quiet time after 11:00pm.
  • The hotel does have a lost and found if anything goes missing during your stay.
  • Please remember that the hotel will be full and there will be hundreds of additional people on site; therefore, the restaurant and bar may be slow at peak times even though they are bringing in extra staff for our event.
  • Please do not hang anything on the walls of the convention center.  If you have a sign and need assistance, please go to Lexicon Registration for assistance.

While we are at it, please take a moment to read the Lexicon Code of Conduct.  If you have any questions, please see us at Convention Registration.

The Clarion has been our generous host for three years and you guys have always been excellent guests for them.  Thank you.  See you all in just over a week!

Pre-Registration ends soon, Events are selling out

Can you believe it is less than two weeks until Lexicon 2016?

That’s right and that means we are into the last few hours to purchase badges at Pre-Registration prices.  Today and tomorrow are your last chances.  After that, you can still purchase badges online, but they will be at Full Price and will not be pre-made and waiting at Will Call when you arrive.

Also, in the world of urgency, events are starting to Sell Out! Indeed, Saturday’s Pandemic tournament, the Ticket to Ride Tournament, a couple RPGS and, by the time you read this , probably a few other events will have sold out.  A number of events have only 1 or 2 tickets remaining.  So while it might be tempting to wait until you arrive at the convention to purchase your tickets, we strongly encourage our guests to reserve their spots in their favorite events by purchasing in advance.  And again, if you do so this weekend, your event tickets will be ready and waiting at Will Call when you arrive.

Thank you so much to everyone for supporting Lexicon and we can’t wait for the opening to arrive!

You May Now Return to Your Dungeon

First of all, thank you to everyone for your support and patience.  This has been a trying few days for everyone, but with thanks to some security experts we seem to be back and in much better shape.  You will notice some changes to the site, some of which will still need improvements in the next few days, but all the functionality is there.

You may now make any purchases that you have been waiting on.

A note that pre-registration will now close on Sunday night. We’re extending it to make sure everyone has a reasonable chance to get in.  Please be aware that a couple of our events have sold out while a few (RPGs, Pandemic) are getting very close.

Shopping Cart Temporarily Down

As some of you have noticed, our shopping cart has been up and down all weekend.  I’m afraid, Lexicon has been the victim of some cyberthugs.  Not to worry, nobody’s credit card information is at risk, we leave all of that up to Paypal!  However, we were seeing some redirects attempts to move our transactions to something called Devian.  We are working with Paypal to track down if any transactions were actually routed there and if they were to get them correctly redirected to our account.  Please if you made a purchase anytime in the last week, check your receipt and if it says Devian, please let us know at info@lexicongaming.com.

Again, none of our customers’ data is at risk and all purchases will be sorted out so your badges and tickets will be there.  If you have any questions or are uncertain about your purchase, please contact us at info@lexicongaming.com.

With special thanks to Paypal and our hosting company’s security expert, we anticipate everything being back in order by Monday afternoon 11:00 p.m. tonight (Monday evening).

(We will extend pre-registration as a result of this fiasco.  Fiasco by the way will be played during our Saturday Night Party.)

The End (of Pre-Reg) is Near!

Yes, that’s right. We have arrived at the last few days of pre-registration. Starting next week we will begin printing badges and assembling kits for everyone who has pre-registered so that you can arrive and pick up everything you need at Will Call. In order to do that, we need to close pre-registration next week.

Once pre-reg is closed, you will still be able to purchase badges and tickets online, but two important things happen. First, badge prices go up to their regular registration price. Second, any purchases made during regular registration are not guaranteed to be ready at Will Call when you arrive.

So, act now and make your pre-reg purchases, we have already had several events sell out with others going fast.
